Last night a friend from Detroit hosted a book party in her home for me (and Dakota, Or What’s a Heaven For). Over twenty women—teachers, writers, professionals of various stripes, all avid readers—gathered for food and wine, a reading and discussion. It was a privilege to be in the company of these smart and engaged women. Many thanks to our host, Carol, for making this fun evening possible and for introducing me to a whole new community of readers.
