I just had my first working meeting with filmmaker Beth Tanenhaus Winsten on a book trailer for Dakota and am really excited about her vision. A tinyBigPictureshow is a three-minute visual “story” of the book and author. We film in early October. More soon!

I recently received my copy of the Summer 2010 Michigan Quarterly Review, and was thrilled to see my work in this fine journal. The chapter, “In Which a Coffin Is a Bed, But an Ox Is Not a Coffin,” is from Dakota, Or What’s a Heaven For. If you get a chance to check this issue out, be sure to take a look at Doug Trevor’s story there, “The Librarian.” It is unexpected and wonderful.
