tinyBigPictureshow

Friday, September 17th, 2010

I just had my first working meeting with filmmaker Beth Tanenhaus Winsten on a book trailer for Dakota and am really excited about her vision. A tinyBigPictureshow is a three-minute visual “story” of the book and author. We film in early October. More soon!

Okay, this should be fun: I’ll be a guest on Prairie Public Radio’s ‘Hear It Now’ on November 1 (which is the official publication date for Dakota. The show is live, weekdays, at 3 p.m. (with a rebroadcast at 7 p.m. (Central), and can be heard online at approximately 4:15 p.m. (Central).

Then, that Thursday, November 4, there’s a reading/release party at the Plains Art Museum in Fargo, at 7 p.m. Everybody is welcome!

I recently received my copy of the Summer 2010 Michigan Quarterly Review, and was thrilled to see my work in this fine journal. The chapter, “In Which a Coffin Is a Bed, But an Ox Is Not a Coffin,” is from Dakota, Or What’s a Heaven For. If you get a chance to check this issue out, be sure to take a look at Doug Trevor’s story there, “The Librarian.” It is unexpected and wonderful.
